Does anyone know anything about the lasted stomach virus that is going around? My child suddenly started throwing up and having diarhea. We were up all night with it. Fever has broke but still lethargic. Anyone have this in the past week or two. How long is it usually lasting. Anyone been to the pediatrician about it...let me know.
Thanks for any info.

aaaaaargh        if the bowel movements are loosey and a lovey yellow with the most horrible smell ever   that is probably what it is.  ( vomiting too)  visions of "The Exorcist" come to mind
I think its the closest thing to a voodoo hex my child could get!!!
I took my ten month old to the ER with terrible smelling /green pus bowel movements... they patted me on the head and said it was food allergy and I didnt believe it!
The very next day we went back to the ER because my son was very lethargic and would not drink any fluids.. a few drops and he would get sick.  This doctor said it was rotorvirus and that it is terrible, it causes abodominal cramps. vomiting, diarrhea and fever.  I even called the Ped. Doc and she confirmed that it was going around like brush fire.
Just make sure the little ones stay hydrated, ( food is not a priority, but fluids are, even popsicles if you have too! )   and be prepared for a week of endless laundry and misery for all in the home.

My son, who is 18 and has Down Syndrome, has now come down w/ this virus. A couple days ago he was feeling a little down and all he wanted to do was sleep. And he was very hot to the touch. Seemed okay yesterday then last night he was warm again. He woke me up at 6 this am and said he was "stinky"; you know, the out of control poo-poo!!! So, after a change of clothes a couple times and a few trips to the bathroom, he's been asleep for a couple hours now. Still a little warm, but at least he is sleeping. A good tip is to give the kids a glass of gatorade with salt as this really helps hydrate them. I had to do this last summer when he got heat stroke and it really works. Good luck to all of you in the same boat.

Well, I think the bug has landed at our home. My little ones have complained of a troubled tummy. So, I called our pedetrician. Waiting to hear back.
We (my girls) are experiencing tummy upset, pain and discomfort. "Like I'm going to throw up all over your really pretty shirt mom," so says my Shelby.
We've been up for a few nights, with an alert that one of them may call me from school.

No vomiting or diarrehea, however.
From the response I received from the nurse at the doctor's office, there's something going on.

I forgot. We are pros at this at our house. Try not to give your child too much water, since this fuels the throw up. Little sips of pedialite or gaterade. We like ginger tea with lemon and a tiny bit of honey.
